Training Philosophy
Shin Gi Tai 心 技 体
In martial arts, true mastery goes beyond strength or technique—it requires the harmony of mind, body, and skill, known as Shin Gi Tai ( 心 技 体 ).
This philosophy guides our practice, shaping not only how we train in the dojo but how we approach life.
The Harmony of
Shin, Gi, Tai
The ultimate goal of training is the integration of these three elements.
True mastery arises when the mind is clear, the body is conditioned, and technique flows naturally. Focusing on only one aspect limits growth—
Shin Gi Tai teaches that balance is essential for continuous improvement.
The Journey
Shin Gi Tai is not a destination—it is a lifelong journey. Every step of training, whether physical, technical, or mental, brings us closer to becoming complete martial artists. Through this journey, we cultivate discipline, resilience, and self-improvement, both in the dojo and in life.
By embracing Shin Gi Tai, practitioners unlock their full potential—
gaining strength, skill, clarity, and confidence that extend far beyond martial arts.

The Essence
of
Shin Gi Tai
心 技 体
Shin (心) – Mind & Spirit
Shin represents focus, awareness, and inner strength. It is about cultivating patience, courage, discipline, and mindfulness. A strong mind allows us to remain calm under pressure, make clear decisions, and continuously grow as martial artists and as individuals.
Gi (技) – Technique & Skill
Gi encompasses the physical techniques of martial arts. Through diligent practice of fundamental techniques (Kihon), skills (Waza), and forms (Kata), we develop timing, accuracy, coordination, and effective application. Technique is not just movement—it is the outward expression of a focused and disciplined mind.
Tai (体) – Body & Physical Ability
Tai represents the physical foundation needed to execute techniques effectively. Strength, flexibility, balance, stamina, and body awareness all support precise and powerful movements, making the body a finely tuned instrument for martial practice.
